COMPETITIVE ALL STAR CHEERLEADING AND DANCE/POM TEAMS SINCE 1987

  • CYC Raiders All Stars are competitive Cheerleading and Dance/Pom Teams from Kenosha, Wisconsin.  We are proud of our own home gym featuring two springboard floors, a tumble track, tumbling forms, blocks and mats, mirrors and lots of trophies with a home [finally].   Right now our program is in full competition mode and we are having a very rewarding 21st season with our team and individual athlete competitors.  Check our News page for details.

  • The clinic & tryouts for the CYC Raiders All Star Cheerleading and Dance Teams are held each Spring  times are "to be announced."    
  • New this season:  we are giving prospective new Raider athletes and their families the opportunity to come into our gym while we are still working & competing so you can see our teams & coach at work - and find out what our program is all about.  You'll want to take advantage of this opportunity!  Join our Tryout List to get updates and receive notification when the open house dates are scheduled.

RESULTS

  • Our program has consistently produced local, state, national, world and grand champions since 1987.  Our coach has done this while trying to find a place for every child that wants to participate.  Tryouts give Dorothy an idea of what she should "build" for the year, the athletes that "show up" guide her vision. 
  • Our teams continue in that tradition. This past competitive season 2007~2008, the Raiders celebrated their 21st consecutive season. Our six competitive cheerleading and dance teams from beginner to elite level and coach Dorothy Wentland and the supporting families worked hard in the gym and experienced a successful season with many Regional, State, Natioanal  and GRAND CHAMPION Titles for our cheer teams.  We were "THREE-PEAT" winners of the World Cheer Associations National Competition - a first for that national competition! 
  • The synergy of the coach/athletes/parents working together is key component to our success. 
  • We've been honored to compete against many talented athletes this season.  Thanks for the competition!  We know how hard you all work and continue to be amazed at all of the ingenious choreography and the skill of the athletes and their coaches!  You're AWESOME!

"THE RAIDERS" HISTORY 

  • Dorothy Wentland established the competitive CYC Raiders All Star cheerleading program with only 10 cheerleaders in 1987 - when the competitive sport of all star cheerleading was fairly new.  At that time, there were was a requirement that competing teams actually cheered for a sport team (!) and we partnered up with a local sports program to fulfill that requirement - we cheered at their recreation football games.   Even after that rule faded out, we had our little ones cheering at youth football games for our first 12 years. 
  • Classic Youth Cheer & Dance/CYC Raiders All Stars are now INDEPENDENT of all other programs; we've grown and developed over the the past 21 seasons; now we are a well equipped program with a home gym facility that serves our athletes' safety and the development of remarkable contenders.  
  • We are an independent, non-profit program that works on a cooperative plan.  
  • The athletes, their families and Phil & Dorothy Wentland have worked hard over the last 6 years to get settled into our first real homebase gym facility.
